Personal Narrative - True stories about the author's life and experiences. A collection of personal narratives is called a memoir.

Fiction - Stories are make believe utilizing characters AND/OR action (events) that are made up.

Argumentative Essay - Supports specific claims with reasons and relevant research-based evidence and citations.

Expository Nonfiction - Explains informational topics using facts, supporting evidence, and test features.

Poetry - artistic writing, that attempts to stir a reader's imagination or emotions.
